Subjects in NWO group had higher serum levels of insulin (9.02 ± 4.75 vs .6.24 ± 2.51, p= 0.009), leptin (17.31 ± 8.10 vs. 9.94 ± 4.30, p<0.001) and homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) (33.77 ± 20.71 vs. 23.48 ± 10.03, p=0.009) as compared to normal weight non-obese (NWNO) as control group. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and Insulin resistance.
