Introduction
FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) mutations are present in approximately one-third of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and are associated with higher relapse and reduced survival. National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend FLT3 mutation testing at diagnosis to guide risk stratification and selection of FLT3-targeted therapy. Here, FLT3 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
