Cardiac hypertrophy (CH), cardiac functions, and mechanistic changes in RyR1 OE and control (wildtype, WT) mice were assessed using hematoxylin and eosin staining, echocardiography, electrocardiogram, quantitative RT-PCR, Western blotting, [3H]-ryanodine binding assay, confocal microscope, ROS dye Amplex Red and 2',7'-dichlorofluorescein diacetate. The gene discussed is RYR1; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
