Conclusions: Collectively, these findings indicate that quercetin appears to function as an effective chemosensitizing adjuvant to MMC in retinoblastoma models, through transcriptional changes consistent with p53-associated apoptotic signaling at the transcriptional level, G2/M cell cycle arrest, and partial involvement of ROS-related cellular stress responses, along with suppression of tumor-supportive signaling pathways. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is retinoblastoma.
