<b>Background/Objectives</b>: In recent years there has been a consistent development of clinical studies surrounding the incorporation of the B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL-2) inhibitor venetoclax (VEN) into the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) <b>Methods</b>: A search of the literature showed a tremendous development of experimental and clinical studies evaluating the impact of VEN-based regimens in the treatment of AML patients. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
