Background
Interleukin -17 (IL-17), particularly IL-17A, thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), interferon gamma (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), IL-2, IL-6, IL-23, and IL-31 play a significant role in the pathogenesis of various chronic inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases.
Method
We conducted an assessment of plasma levels of interleukins IL-17A, TSLP, IFN-γ TNF-α, IL-2, IL-6, IL-23, and IL-31 in 89 atopic dermatitis (AD) patients and in 34 healthy individuals as a control group. This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and Alzheimer disease.
