Moreover, lower levels of NK and NKT cells and upregulation of IL-6, CXCL-8, and TNF-α concentrations were observed, in accordance with alcohol intake (AH >cirrhosis > ms-AUD > l-AUD > HD).<h4>Conclusion</h4>The number of immune cells (CD4<sup>+</sup>, CD8<sup>+</sup>, NK, and NKT cells) and IL-6, CXCL-8, IL-10, and TNF-α cytokine concentrations can be used as differential diagnostic parameters for AUD and could be considered an important criterion for the treatment of alcohol-associated liver disease (AALD).
