Circulating C-reactive protein (CRP) reflects systemic inflammation, but its prognostic value for incident RF in COPD is controversial.<h4>Methods</h4>A total of 38 933 patients from the UK Biobank with the ratio of Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 second to Forced Vital Capacity (FEV1/FVC) < 0.70 but without RF at baseline were included, and a maximum of 17.87 years of follow-up was conducted. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
