The protective effect of TFEB-KCs on hepatic steatosis was abolished in the absence of CPT2 or LAL, arguing that lipid breakdown and oxidation by TFEB-KCs reduce steatosis (Figures 5L, M and Supplemental Figures S5H–K, http://links.lww.com/HC9/C188). The gene discussed is CPT2; the disease is fatty liver disease.
