IFNB1 and cancer: Treatment of the cells for 72 h with 25 ng/mL IFNβ resulted in a rise in the proportion of cancer cells expressing HLA-class-I protein compared to the control condition, with the A549 cell line showing a 17.87-fold increase (p < 0.001) and the H1299 cell line demonstrating an 8.74-fold increase (p < 0.01) in the expression pattern; see Figure 2a.
