Compared with the non-bacteremia group, the bacteremia group was significantly older and had a higher prevalence of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, cerebrovascular accident, and neoplastic disease; had significantly higher body temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate and lower oxygen saturation and Glasgow Coma Scale scores upon ED presentation; and had significantly higher levels of all four predictive biomarkers: MDW, CRP, NLR, and WBC. Here, CRP is linked to bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
