Exercise performed at 75–80% of maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), including moderate-to-high-intensity aerobic interval training [23], enhances heart rate and blood flow [24,25,26], induces physiological cardiac hypertrophy [27,28,29,30,31], lowers the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and (IL)-6, and elevates anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-10 [32,33,34]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and cardiac hypertrophy.
