Several studies have demonstrated that lower pre-TACE albumin levels correlate with higher rates of liver function deterioration and treatment discontinuation after TACE: recently, a combination of serum albumin ≤ 3.8 g/dL, PT ≤ 80% and largest tumour diameter ≥ 3.8 cm was reported as a predictor of immediate deterioration of the CP classification from A to B [47]. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is neoplasm.
