In ΔCgmas2-infected leaves, up-regulated DEGs were enriched in defense-related terms including “response to bacterium” and “defense response.” In contrast, CgM2 infection at this stage induced terms “heme binding,” “monooxygenase activity,” and “oxidoreductase activity.” This divergence became more pronounced at 96 hpi: CgM2-infected leaves showed enrichment in “autophagy” and “cellular catabolic process,” whereas ΔCgmas2-infected leaves remained enriched in “translational and antibacterial response terms” (Figures S5 and S6 and Table S4). Here, CEACAM7 is linked to infection.
