The mRNA coding for GLI2, one of the most important downstream effectors of Hh signaling, was markedly upregulated (7.59-fold increase) in melanoma cells, whereas two key Hh repressors, PTCH1 and SUFU, were significantly reduced (0.341 and 0.458-fold decrease, respectively) compared to controls. This evidence concerns the gene GLI2 and melanoma.
