Notably, our group previously demonstrated that inhibitors of several CDKs were able to reverse tau phosphorylation at Ser396, Ser404, and Ser409 epitopes in an HSV-1 infection model using the human neuroblastoma cell line SK-N-MC [17], further supporting the involvement of CDK-related pathways in HSV-1–induced tau dysregulation.
