These results are consistent with mechanistic studies of adiponectin receptor agonists; for example, AdipoRon (another adiponectin receptor agonist) has been shown to enhance ceramidase activity and reduce Cer accumulation in diabetic cardiomyopathy, improving insulin resistance, reducing fibrosis and inflammation, and promoting cardiac function [27,32]. Here, CBLN1 is linked to diabetic cardiomyopathy.
