FABP-4 primarily participates in the transport of fatty acids to cellular compartments, the regulation of intracellular lipid metabolism, and the modulation of gene expression (Boord et al., 2002). FABP-4 may influence the development of CRC through its effects on inflammation (Zhou et al., 2014) and insulin resistance (Pisani, 2008; Jenab et al., 2007; Rinaldi et al., 2008; Murphy et al., 2022). Here, FABP4 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
