Inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin‐1β (IL‐1β), IL‐6, and tumor necrosis factor‐α (TNF‐α) are also commonly elevated during migraine attacks (Yücel et al. 2016; Wang et al. 2015; Perini et al. 2005; Armağan et al. 2020). These cytokines have been implicated in Alzheimer's pathology, particularly IL‐6, which has been closely associated with cognitive deterioration (Song et al. 2021; Long et al. 2023; Leonardo and Fregni 2023). This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and migraine disorder.
