Our finding of 23.8% deletions in 1042 successfully analyzed pT2‐4 urothelial carcinomas is in the lower range of previously published studies showing PTEN deletions in 22%–80% of 12–472 muscle‐invasive urothelial bladder cancers [20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 36]. The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
