GO functional enrichment analysis of the upregulated genes between the ISG_high and ISG_low clusters (Figure 2E) showed that these DEGs were mainly enriched in biological processes such as “response to virus,” “defense response to virus,” and “negative regulation of viral process.” This further confirms that the ISG activity difference is a core functional heterogeneity feature of moDCs in response to ZIKV infection and that IFN-β can shape the heterogeneity of the moDC antiviral immune responses by regulating the ISG activity in different cell clusters. Here, IFNB1 is linked to Zika virus infectious disease.
