As shown in Figure 1, the interactions between the FTO (Fat Mass and Obesity‐Associated Gene), TCF7L2 (Transcription Factor 7‐Like 2), and APOE (Apolipoprotein E) genes and nutrients play a crucial role in the metabolic pathways that determine disease risk. The gene discussed is TCF7L2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
