As such, in the 2021 (and current) WHO classification of CNS tumors, the diagnosis “Glioblastoma, IDH-wild type, CNS-WHO grade 4” includes diffusely infiltrative astrocytic neoplasms lacking an IDH mutation that have either (1) histologic evidence of necrosis or microvascular proliferation, or (2) any of the following molecular alterations: TERT promotor mutation, EGFR amplification, or combined chromosome + 7/-10 [3]. Here, TERT is linked to glioblastoma.
