Results: Recombinant neurotrophins and synthetic molecules, the agonists and antagonists of their receptors, and cell-based gene therapy are promising means for the prevention and rehabilitation of ischemic conditions, as well as the treatment of neuropathic pain and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
