In a mouse model of mitochondrial cardiomyopathy constructed by cardiac-specific deletion of Cox10, an assembly factor of the cytochrome c oxidase, activation of the Oma1-DAP3 binding cell death enhancer 1 (DELE1) axis could elicit ATF4-mediated ISR, which regulated glutathione metabolism, reduced lipid peroxidation and protected against ferroptosis, ultimately delayed the progression of cardiomyopathy (Ahola et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene DELE1 and cardiomyopathy.
