SMO and neoplasm: Cyclopamine, a naturally occurring steroidal alkaloid that binds and thus inhibits the SHh signaling pathway and blocks the SMO signaling transducer; when tested in a xenograft murine PDAC model, cyclopamine reduced the size of the tumour stroma and potentiated the antitumour effect of nab-paclitaxel, possibly due to enhanced drug delivery [39].
