Subgraphs corresponding to these five candidate DMT targets collectively contained eight of the fourteen PD-associated genes used in the enrichment analysis: PRKN, LRRK2, PINK1, SNCA, CHCHD2, ATP13 A2, GBA, and DNM1L. The presence of these PD-associated genes within the subgraph structures provides mechanistic context and supports hypotheses regarding how each candidate may intersect with PD-relevant pathways. This evidence concerns the gene DNM1L and Parkinson disease.
