Laboratory exams revealed anaemia (Hb 89 g/L), thrombocytopenia (platelets 12 × 10^9/L), mild lymphopenia (absolute lymphocyte count 1.25 × 10^9/L), slightly impaired renal function (serum creatinine 1.43 mg/dL), increased lactate dehydrogenase (1082 IU/L), total bilirubin 1.3 mg/dL, undetectable haptoglobin and schistocytes on peripheral blood smear. This evidence concerns the gene GSTM1 and lymphopenia.
