Statistically significant intergroup differences were observed in various baseline characteristics, including age, BMI, WC, SBP, DBP, FBG, TC, HDL‐C, TG, CRP, ALT, sex distribution, per capita household income, educational background, physical activity levels, smoking and alcohol consumption habits, salt and tea consumption, intake of a high‐fat diet, and the prevalence of diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver, gallbladder polyps, and HBsAg seropositivity (all p‐values < 0.05).
