WGA staining of myocardial tissue revealed that the cross-sectional area of cardiomyocytes was significantly smaller in the hearts of mice in the jaranol-treatment group than in the hearts of mice in the TAC group, illustrating the protective effect of jaranol against TAC-induced cardiac hypertrophy; however, this effect was blunted after TLR2 overexpression (Figures 5D,E). Here, TLR2 is linked to persistent truncus arteriosus.
