It was evident that HDAC is a significant target for discovery of potent anticancer drugs.23–25 The role of HDAC in tumor growth may be attributed to post-translational regulation of essential angiogenesis factors; hypoxia inducible factor (HIF-1 α) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).14,26 As mentioned above, different isoforms of HDAC are linked to cell cycle progression, differentiation inhibition, and tumor growth.
