In this non‐obesogenic model of hepatic inflammation and cholestasis, galR1 depletion via galR1 vivo morpholino significantly reduced cholangiocyte proliferation markers cytokeratin 19 (CK‐19) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression and decreased fibrotic markers alpha‐smooth muscle actin (α‐SMA) and collagen type 1 alpha 1 (Col1A1) [80]. Here, KRT19 is linked to cholestasis.
