To further investigate IVT effects on neuronal damage and reactive astrogliosis, immunofluorescence markers were used to stain mature neurons (neuronal nuclear protein: NeuN) and reactive astrocytes (glial fibrillary acidic protein: GFAP) in the peri-infarct area on day 7 post-stroke (Figure 3(f)).
