CD274 and neoplasm: Similarly, circulating tumor endothelial cells (CTECs)—defined by aneuploidy and tumor vascular origin15—were identified that associated with metastatic disease and poor prognosis,16 and linked to diminished clinical benefits and shorter progression-free survival in non-small cell lung cancer patients undergoing anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy, suggesting an active role in mediating immune evasion.17
