Finding: Ferroptosis in cerebral infarction is driven by glutathione depletion, glutathione peroxidase‐4 (GPX4) inactivation, and iron‐catalyzed lipid peroxidation of polyunsaturated phospholipids, with acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain family member‐4 (ACSL4) and lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase‐3 (LPCAT3) priming membranes for oxidative injury. This evidence concerns the gene ACSL4 and brain infarction.
