Dysadherin is expressed predominantly in malignant epithelial cells, with minimal expression in normal or stromal compartments, as supported by both previous studies and our immunofluorescence data (Supplementary Fig. 2a).23,25,33 To further assess the stromal contribution, coculture of MC38 cells with T cells from WT or Fxyd5−/− mice resulted in no differences in tumor growth, whereas ex vivo T-cells from both type of mice exhibited similar activation and cytokine production, which is in line with previous observations27 (Supplementary Fig. 10a–-c).
