A previous retrospective study also did not observe significant differences in severe adverse events, PFS, and OS when BCT was interrupted or continued during SRT.31 Another retrospective study on patients with lung cancer with acquired resistance to EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy reported a 23% disease flare rate after a median of 8 days after stopping tyrosine kinase inhibitors (61 patients).38 This discrepancy might be explained by the limited number of patients in this subgroup in the present cohort study or the addition of SRT to the patients in the present cohort study. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and lung cancer.
