At this stage, it appeared that the administration of 0.1 mg per mouse of anti-IFNAR1 mAb, followed 48 h later by infection (ip) with 104 or 105 TCID50 of CHIKV represents experimental conditions inducing high viral loads (∼1010copies/ml) in the days following infection as well as moderate and transient illness in almost all mice (100% and 83.3%) (Figure 2(d)), and leads to seroconversion in 100% of the animals within 3 weeks (Figure 8(b) and Table S1). The gene discussed is IFNAR1; the disease is infection.
