VWF and Venous thrombosis: Microthrombus formation is one of the major complications in lung transplantation.7 The coagulation process that contributes to vascular thrombosis depends on alterations in the ratio of pro to anticoagulant factors, in favor of the procoagulant molecules.8,9 A hypercoagulable state is susceptible to thrombus formation, and a procoagulant molecule, namely von Willebrand factor (VWF), has a major role in this process.
