Available evidence revealed that treatment failure of ART among children is affected by baseline WHO stage [10–12], adherence [10,12–14], a low CD4 count [11,15], baseline opportunistic infection [16], baseline tuberculosis, hemoglobin [12], caregiver being widowed [15], being malnourished [17], missing cotrimoxazole preventive therapy [10], being orphaned [12,14], and having a nevirapine-based regimen [13,18,19].
