Our sample had a mean age of 55.4 (± 9.2) years and a mean duration of HIV infection of 24.1 (± 8.8) years, with a generally preserved immunological profile characterized by a mean CD4/CD8 ratio of 0.80 ± 0.37 (CD4 count of 769 ± 327 cells/mcL and CD4% of 29.3 ± 8.9). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and HIV infectious disease.
