PCSK9 inhibitors (e.g., Evolocumab) enhance the LDL‐C receptors count in the liver by mediating degradation of the LDL‐C receptor, thereby lowering circulating LDL‐C levels, while PCSK9 inhibitors can lead to nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory tract infections, and other adverse reactions (Raal et al. 2015). This evidence concerns the gene PCSK9 and nasopharyngitis.
