Rarely, primary intracranial ASPS (PIASPS) has been reported and is in the differential diagnosis of intracranial masses with the radiographic characteristics of meningioma.7,8 In diagnosing alveolar soft part sarcoma, Alveolar soft part sarcoma chromosome region, candidate 1-transcription factor E3 (ASPSCR1-TFE3) or alveolar soft part locus- transcription factor E3 (ASPL-TFE3), a fusion gene, is informative and has been shown to contribute to tumorigenesis.9-11 Life-long follow up is essential because of the potential for late recurrence.12 This evidence concerns the gene ASPSCR1 and alveolar soft part sarcoma.
