A number of pathological processes are observed in the course of Alzheimer’s disease, including amyloid neurotoxicity, tau protein pathology, cholinergic failure, excitotoxicity, mitochondrial dysfunction, autophagy failure, oxidative stress, apolipoprotein abnormalities, and circulatory problems [7,17,18]. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
