The protective effect of MOE on liver diseases [134,135,136,137] is probably due to the presence of quercetin [138], which plays a pivotal role in the prevention of liver inflammation through inhibiting NF-kB/TLR/NLRP3, inactivation of autophagy-mediated cell apoptosis (under ER stress) through the mTOR pathway [139,140,141,142,143] (Figure 5).
