Specifically, suppression of SCD led to broad downregulation of key pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., Tnf, Il1b, Il17a) and chemokines (e.g., Cxcl1, Cxcl5, Cxcl10), while enhancing the expression of the anti-inflammatory cytokine Il10. Here, CXCL5 is linked to Schnyder corneal dystrophy.
