In the murine hearts with doxorubicin-induced dilated cardiomyopathy, the expression of SOX5 was increased, the WNT/β-catenin pathway and apoptosis were activated, and inflammation and collagen deposition were also increased, which were consistent with the findings from the hearts of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy [93]. This evidence concerns the gene SOX5 and dilated cardiomyopathy.
