For 60 patients, immunohistochemistry was performed with some of the following markers: epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), which confirms epithelial origin, paired box gene 8 (PAX8), which confirms renal origin, cluster of differentiation 10 (CD10), vimentin, renal cell carcinoma marker (RCCm), and carbonic anhydrase 9 (CAIX), which are used to differentiate ccRCC from other variants. Here, CA9 is linked to renal cell carcinoma.
