GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as liraglutide, semaglutide, and exenatide, have been shown to decrease systemic inflammation by reducing circulating levels of inflammatory biomarkers, including hsCRP, TNF-α, and IL-6, in people with type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Here, IL6 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
