Temozolomide (TMZ) is the standard first-line chemotherapeutic drug for treatment of GBM; however, its effectiveness is hindered by factors such as the overexpression of O6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) and the existence of various genetic mutations and repair mechanisms in tumor cells (Gajjar et al. 2022; Messaoudi et al. 2015; Singh et al. 2021; Stupp et al. 2005; Stupp et al. 2017).
